At its heart, Rooted Resilience is a youth-led environmental initiative that hopes to support water-efficient farming in rural agricultural communities around Mumbai. Grounded in research, expert engagements and farmer-connect through the provision of easy-to-understand informational materials and farming tools, the project seeks to address water stress by promoting low-cost irrigation practices such as bottle-drip systems, mulching, and basic soil moisture retention techniques that can be implemented using locally available materials.
The project is designed to evolve over time, By working closely with practitioners and engaging directly with farmers, Rooted Resilience hopes to enable practical adoption rather than top-down solutions. Alongside on-ground work, it also focuses on awareness-building and conversations that highlight sustainable, climate-resilient agricultural practices.
